Installing from
the CD-ROM
In most cases inserting
the GuitarPower CD-ROM will cause installation to start automatically. If it
does not:
- Select 'Run'
from the Windows taskbar
- Into the dialog
box type: D:\STARTER.EXE where D is the name of your CD-ROM drive and
press Enter
- Select 'Install
GuitarPower' from the on-screen menu
After installation
has started follow the on-screen instructions. If you are not sure about anything
accept the default suggestions.
If you have registered
GuitarPower run the program and then enter your registration key when prompted.
Installing your
internet download
The GuitarPower
internet download is distributed as a self-extracting archive. This means
that you first need to unzip the archive and then run the installation program.
The file that you have downloaded will be named GuitarPower.EXE
To unzip the archive:
- Select 'Run'
from the Windows taskbar
- Click the 'Browse'
button and navigate to the directory in which you saved the download. Select
the GuitarPower.EXE file, select 'Open' and then 'OK'.
- A dialog box
titled 'WINZIP Self-Extractor...' will open. You are asked to specify a temporary
directory in which to extract the setup files, the default will read something
like: 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP. If you wish to you may change this directory. Select
'Unzip'
- After the files
have been 'Unzipped Successfully' select the 'Close' button. If, at this stage,
you receive a message stating 'Zip damaged:...Bad CRC...' your internet download
has failed. You will need to delete the file and download again
Now the download
has been unzipped you can install GuitarPower:
- Select 'Run'
from the Windows taskbar
- Into the dialog
box type: C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\SETUP.EXE where C:\WINDOWS\TEMP is the temporary
directory that you specified in the last section.
After installation
has started follow the on-screen instructions. If you are not sure about anything
accept the default suggestions.
Once installation
has completed you can delete the temporary installation files if you wish.
Uninstalling
GuitarPower
- To remove GuitarPower
from your system:
- Select 'Settings'
then 'Control Panel' from the taskbar.
- Double click
the 'Add / Remove Programs' icon.
- Select 'GuitarPower'
from the list and then click the 'Add / Remove...' button
- Follow the on-screen
instructions
