‘Show Me’ Help

You can ask PET to show information on any of the intervals, triads, chords or scales that are featured in the other parts of the program. The help available varies from item to item however, everything is shown in standard musical notation with a root note of C.

To access Show Me Help either select the show me item from the Help menu or select the Show Me icon on the toolbar.

By using the combo boxes at the top of this dialog you can ask for help on any interval, triad, chord or scale.

Note. Show me help defaults to the last musical item that PET has played. This means that if PET plays a musical item that you have no knowledge of, activating show me help immediately will take you directly to the relevant information.

Formulas

When a ‘formula’ is given this compares the musical structure to a Major scale starting on the same root note.

Example. A minor seventh chord has a formula of: 1 b3 5 b7

To find the notes in a Gm7 chord, first find out what notes are in a G major scale and then perform a comparison:
